The beautiful Toroneos gulf is located between the peninsulas of Kassandra and Sithonia. It is well known for its blue crystal waters and the breathtaking view of the scenery and the coastlines of the two peninsulas.

Among these in the Toroneos gulf, is also an island of Halkidiki, which is called ‘Kelyfos’.

This island is particular due to its weird shape, looking like a turtle, and that is why it is called by the locals the ‘Turtle Island’.

The traditional boat Saint Nicolas ( Agios Nikolas ) departs at 09:30 in the morning. Our first stop will be an isolated beach, in Toroni, called ‘Aretes’, for approximately two hours of swimming and sunbathe.

Be sure that you will be amazed by the green-blue Aegean waters and the gold sand that doesn’t stick to your body, accompanied by the gorgeous view of the Byzantine fortress, which will make your stay there an unforgettable experience. Back on boat and ready for you to take your lunch and drink enjoying the way to our second stop, which will be the well-known village ‘Pefkohori’ in Kassandra.

Our final stop before our arrival back to Neos Marmaras will be the island ‘Kelyfos’, the perfect place for swimming and snorkeling. After forty minutes in the ‘Turtle Island’ we will head to our final destination enjoying some Greek music and maybe we have the chance to see some dolphins, as it usually happens.

The Aristotle’s Park, a unique theme park in Halkidiki, is located at an altitude of about 500 meters, in the historical village of Stagira, beside the remains of Machalas, the capital of Mademochoria.

It is worth visiting for its interesting instruments and the great view to the gulf of Ierissos.

The park preexisted and the wonderful location was chosen in 1956 to host the statue of Aristotle, made by sculptor Nicholas, in honor of the great philosopher who was born in Ancient Stagira.

The unique interactive instruments were placed there in 2003 by the Municipal Corporation of Stagira-Akanthos.

They are experimental instruments, operating by rules of physics that are mentioned in Aristotle’s textbooks and especially in the one called “The Naturals”.

With this addition, the park has become a favorite destination for every visitor and school, since it combines recreation, entertainment and education.

An Orthodox spiritual center since 1054, Mount Athos has enjoyed an autonomous statute since Byzantine times.

Mount Athos – The Holy Mountain

The ‘Holy Mountain‘, which is forbidden to women and children, is also a recognized artistic site. The layout of the monasteries (about 20 of which are presently inhabited by some 1,400 monks) had an influence as far afield as Russia, and its school of painting influenced the history of Orthodox art.

Cloaked by beautiful chestnut and other types of Mediterranean forest, the steep slopes of Mount Athos are punctuated by twenty imposing monasteries and their subsidiary establishments.

Covering an area of just over 33,000 hectares, the property includes the entire narrow rocky strip of the easternmost of the three peninsulas of Halkidiki which jut into the Aegean Sea in northern Greece. The subsidiary establishments include skites, kellia and kathismata (living units operated by the monks), where farming constitutes an important part of the monks’ everyday life.
